Poor little zombees

Poor old bumblebees, their numbers have been decimated in recent years as bee colonies collapse, and latest research suggests their fate may be even more horrifying than previously thought.
A study carried out at San Francisco State University shows that after the parasitic fly, Apocephalus Borealis (see picture below), attacks the bees and lays eggs in their abdomens, the bees then abandon their hives and start congregating around light sources, zombie-style.
These zombie bees eventually die and up to 13 fly larvae emerge a week later.
