Horse chestnut threat from conker'ing' moth
The beautiful horse chestnut tree, so redolent of the British countryside, is being terrorised by an alien moth and conker tree lovers everywhere are being asked to help save it from attack.
The conker-killing moth arrived on UK in 2002, never having been seen before on these shores and has since spread through up to 60kms of the country every year. It can now be found in nearly half of the UK, largely in the South, but more recently has extended its brutal tree-damaging ways to Yorkshire in the North.
